The Barcelona Synchrotron Park (BSP)-Parc de l’Alba, with technical assistance from Minuartia, has published a new ‘Guide to promoting green infrastructure and biodiversity in Parc de l’Alba buildings’.
This guide is part of an action plan to support the Park’s green infrastructure. It is divided into five key ideas related to ecological restoration, nature-based solutions, management of green spaces, etc. The BSP-Parc de l’Alba is part of the European platform ‘Business @ Biodiversity’ that recognizes actions taken to promote biodiversity and expresses its commitment to nature and territory.
The published guide includes a set of actions, measures and good practices to encourage the conservation of biodiversity and minimise the use of resources by companies located in the Park. The proposed measures are divided into three thematic blocks: gardening practices to promote wildlife, good maintenance practices, and the application of nature-based solutions. Each includes a brief description, practice guidelines, links to relevant information and reference examples. Together, it represents a very useful tool to encourage and facilitate the process of implementing actions to promote biodiversity and green infrastructure.
