The meetings, which are organized by Barcelona Provincial Council and held in these Parks every four years, took place on 19 and 20 November in Tiana. Roser Campeny and Ferran Navàs, from Minuartia, presented three studies that can be applied to the management of amphibians, reptiles and wild boar.

Two of the studies that were presented are the result of monitoring over a period of 10 years. The first is entitled “Monitoring of amphibian populations in the Montnegre i el Corredor Park 2004-2014: some data on observed trends” and sums up the trends followed by the amphibian species in the park. The other, entitled “Monitoring wild boar in Montnegre i el Corredor and the Serralada Litoral Central”, gathers the results of ten years of monitoring and compares the growth dynamics of populations of this ungulate in the parks of Montnegre i el Corredor, Serralada Litoral and Serralada de Marina.

The contribution entitled “Amphibians and reptiles in the Serralada Litoral Park: a catalogue and conservation proposals”, updates and completes the catalogue of amphibians and reptiles in the Park, and proposes a series of actions for the conservation of species from both groups, prioritized according to established criteria.

All three studies were promoted by the parks in Barcelona Provincial Council’s Network of Natural Parks, and were undertaken in collaboration with the respective park ranger services, and with hunters’ associations in the case of the wild boar study.
