In News, Present

The biennial ‘International Conference on Ecology and Transportation’ (ICOET) was held on 14-18 May in Salt Lake City (Utah, USA). Carme Rosell, director of MINUARTIA, was invited to participate in the opening session. She encouraged cooperation between professionals in the transport sector, and the conservation of biodiversity to help in ‘harmonizing transportation and nature’; the motto of the European organization INFRA ECO NETWORK EUROPE that she was representing.
This conference is a leader in its field and one of the most important in the world. It is a key meeting point for hundreds of researchers, experts and managers of transport infrastructures worldwide, who share information on the latest applied research and good management and construction practices in transport infrastructures.
MINUARTIA, along with Autopistas by Abertis and Innat, also presented the paper ‘Landscaping of a New Wildlife Overpass: Small Changes Make Big Differences to Benefit Biodiversity’. The subject of this paper was the unique landscape treatment developed for a new wildlife passage over the A2 motorway at Fornells de La Selva, which benefits pollinators and small wildlife.
The abstracts of the other conference papers can be found on the ICOET website.
