The Parc de l’Alba includes the Barcelona Synchrotron Park (BSP) business area and houses companies and leading European research infrastructure, such as the Alba synchrotron, as well as residential and green areas that are managed to prioritise biodiversity conservation and reinforce green infrastructure. Actions that are carried out, including the conservation of the green corridor, agreements with farmers on the conservation of non-irrigated areas and garden management according to ecological criteria, have led to integration into the platform Business & Biodiversity of the European Commission. This platform provides a framework for cooperation between companies from all over Europe committed to the conservation of nature.
MINUARTIA provides technical assistance to Parc de l’Alba and has collaborated in the preparation of a dossier on measures that have been implemented to reinforce green infrastructure and biodiversity within the Park. These focus on five main areas: ecological restoration, application of ‘nature-based solutions’, green management of green spaces, support for agriculture and the creation of a network of healthy and educational itineraries. The actions also contribute to creating an environment in which people can work and enjoy the benefits of contact with nature.
