Biodiversity monitoring project at the Mas de Colom estate, by Borges Group, which demonstrates the effectiveness of the measures implemented to enhance biodiversity conservation on the production estate (dryland crops and various types of fruit trees). Borges applies the Biodiversity Action Plan developed in collaboration with the Global Nature Foundation, which includes measures for soil, water, nutrient and plant health management. The monitoring methodology follows international verification standards and focuses on four indicator groups: flora, soil arthropods, pollinators and birdlife. The work consists of surveys carried out in different areas of the estate to compare zones where improvement actions have been implemented with control areas. This work shows how appropriate management allows agricultural production to be compatible with, and even contribute to, biodiversity benefits.
