Pilot study to estimate wild boar population density in areas of the Boumort Nature Reserve, Montseny Natural Park, and Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Natural Park. The main objective is to obtain accurate estimates that enable the implementation of effective management strategies for wild boar populations. An innovative technique based on the Random Encounter Model (REM) detection method is applied, following the standardized procedure developed by IREC-CSIC within the framework of the FAUNET project. The implementation of this methodology facilitates data collection in areas where wild boar hunting is limited and allows for estimating the density of various meso-mammal species in a single installation campaign.
