Madalen Goitia

Degree in Biology and MSc in Biodiversity

Graduate in Biology from the Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea (University of the Basque Country) and Master’s degree in Biodiversity with a specialization in Biodiversity Conservation from the University of Barcelona.

She has extensive experience in ornithology and has worked in bird conservation and management in various countries, including Argentina, the United States, and Sweden. She has participated in studies on raptors, conducting censuses, nest box monitoring, bird ringing, and camera trap monitoring. She has also carried out ringing of passerines, waders, and waterfowl, and has taken part in the Life AWOM project for the study of the aquatic warbler (Acrocephalus paludicola). She is a certified bird ringer by the Aranzadi Science Society and collaborates in constant effort sites and ringing campaigns. She also has experience using different techniques for the study of bird bioacoustics.

She is part of the Minuartia team, working on wildlife risk management at airports.
