The Alba Ter Consortium is responsible for the LIFE+ project “Recovery of riparian habitats of the River Ter (Riparia-Ter)”, whose main objectives are the restoration and reforestation of degraded riparian forests, temporary recovery of wetlands, improvement and regeneration of riparian forests, control of invasive plants and the planning of accesses to prevent degradation of these ecosystems.<\/p>\n

To mark International Water Day, the exhibition “Biodiversity” opened in Bescan\u00f3. This travelling exhibition is on the conservation and restoration of riparian habitats of the Ter and is co-funded by the LIFE+ European programme. The exhibition has guided tours for all ages and will travel until November to towns in the Riberes del Baix Ter area, including Salt, l’Estartit, Celr\u00e0, Bordils, Fla\u00e7\u00e0, Fontanilles, Verges, Sant Juli\u00e0 de Llor, Sant Julia de Ramis and Mediny\u00e0, as well as to other municipalities on request.<\/p>\n

MINUARTIA was commissioned by the Consortium Alba Ter to carry out the health and safety coordination for the four areas in the LIFE+ Riparia-Ter project: Illa de la Pilastra (Bescan\u00f3, Salt and Sant Gregori), Les Deveses i Hortes (Salt and Girona), El Bosc de Can Salvatella i l’Illa de Pedret (Girona) and The Illa d’Avall (Jafre). All of these areas are within the Natura 2000 network of Riberas del Baix Ter. The project, which ran from 2010 to 2013, covered a surface area of approximately 140 hectares.<\/p>\n
