He holds a PhD in Ecology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) and a degree in Biology from the University of Barcelona (UB).
He has been working for over 20 years as an environmental consultant for public administrations, universities, companies and organizations. He has extensive experience in field work on flora, vegetation and habitats, and in the use of geographic information systems and data analysis. His main lines of work are conservation, management and mapping of flora and habitats. Since 2017–2018 he has combined freelance work and working as an associate professor in the Botany Unit of the Department of Animal Biology, Plant Biology and Ecology of the Autonomous University of Barcelona. Since 2018–2019 he has been lecturer and coordinator of the Evolution and Analysis of the Plant Landscape module on the university master’s degree in Terrestrial Ecology and Biodiversity Management (UAB). He is author or co-author of several scientific and popular publications, manuals and habitat maps of protected natural areas in Catalonia. Since 2003 he has collaborated with Minuartia on several aspects mainly related to botany or management of protected natural areas.
