Technical service for the update of the Wildlife Hazard Management Programme for Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat International Airport

Preparation of the first edition of the WHMP. Annual updates, as well as monitoring, evaluation and implementation of subsequent updates on the execution of the Programme. Monitoring of bird populations in the airport area and its surroundings and identification of bird attraction points (within a radius of 13 km). Update of the study of fauna and its habitats. Incident registration with fauna in BDD and SGISO. Annual update of the impact study with fauna. Training of units involved in wildlife management at the airport. Collection and analysis of data on collisions and other incidents caused by fauna. Evaluation of the effectiveness of the implemented defences and evaluation of innovative measures. Management of emerging problems and proposal of new actions. Coordination of the Animal Impact Monitoring Commission (CSIA) to organize the relevant agents, analyse focal points in the airport environment, etc. It includes tasks to support communication with airlines and other agents in the territory involved in wildlife and land use management.

The Programme complies with the requirements of the State Air Safety Agency on wildlife hazard management.
