Actions for the recovery of native vegetation cover and promotion of the ascending effect for the upper levels of the trophic waterfall in the de National Hunting Boumort Reserve
Endesa – Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Food, Government of Catalonia
The aim of this project was to restore and improve the conservation of the Reserve’s native vegetation cover to promote biodiversity and the habitat of protected species such as the capercaillie.
The project includes the design and creation of protocols, the execution of works (preparation and planting of plots and installation of enclosures to keep deer out) and monitoring. Tests have been carried out with various techniques to evaluate the most effective measures for promoting the recovery of pastures and a pilot test to replant shrubs to promote the recovery of the capercaillie’s habitat.
The work has been carried out in collaboration with the Boumort Reserve team and with the support of ENDESA, which is supporting projects that promote biodiversity.
